Lightspeed Migration · Netherlands & Belgium

Leaving Lightspeed eCom? Take everything with you — and stop renting your shop

Lightspeed (formerly SEOshop) built half the webshops in the Netherlands and Belgium. It's now a subscription that keeps rising, a theme editor that limits you, and an app store where every feature costs monthly. WooCommerce gives you the same functionality, owned outright, with better SEO control and no per-order fees.

From €700 for the migration · full custom theme from €1,500 · combined packages below.

Why leave

Why shops leave Lightspeed.

  • Subscription plus apps. Reviews, invoices, B2B pricing, product feeds, cookie consent: each an app, each monthly. €150–300 a month is normal for a modest shop.
  • Transaction fees on some plans and payment routes.
  • Theme lock-in. Custom theme work is expensive, done in Lightspeed's own templating language, and can't be taken with you.
  • SEO ceiling. Fixed URL structures, limited control over schema and technical SEO, a weak blog.
  • Ownership. Cancel and it's gone. Nothing to export except data.
  • Lightspeed's own direction — the company's focus has shifted to POS and larger retail; eCom features move slowly.

The process

How the switch runs.

01

Audit

We read your Lightspeed store, apps and traffic; you get a written plan and fixed price.

02

Build on staging

WooCommerce on your host, theme built or replicated, integrations in test mode; Lightspeed keeps running.

03

Data import and review

Everything above is imported; you check products, prices and a sample of orders.

04

Redirect map

Every old URL matched; Lightspeed's URL patterns are predictable, so this is thorough.

05

Freeze, final sync, DNS switch

Last orders and customers imported; domain pointed; usually one afternoon, no downtime.

06

Safety net

Lightspeed kept read-only for 30 days as a safety net, then cancelled.

07

Rankings watched

Search Console watched daily for a month; rankings tracked against the pre-switch baseline.

Other platforms

Also from CCV Shop, Mijnwebwinkel, JouwWeb, Shoptrader & Magento.

Same method, different export tooling. CCV Shop and Mijnwebwinkel are the most common after Lightspeed in NL; we've done both.

Questions

Migration questions, answered simply.

Can I keep my Mollie account?

Yes. Same account, same payment methods; we swap the integration.

Will my rankings drop?

With a complete redirect map, expect a small dip for a few days and recovery within 2–4 weeks. We monitor and fix crawl errors daily during that period.

Can I keep my design?

We can replicate it in a custom theme, usually with speed improvements. Most clients refresh it while they're at it.

What about Lightspeed POS?

If you use Lightspeed Retail POS in a physical shop, we connect WooCommerce to it for stock sync, or discuss alternatives.

How long?

Two to three weeks for a standard shop including your review time. The switch itself is one afternoon.
